Pop music codes and conventions

The word pop is actually short for 'popular' which suggests that pop genre music videos should include 'popular' or new things. For example; in all pop genres music videos the artists are represented to have all the newest technologies and fashionable clothing which is a popular interest in today's society because people like to have new, 'cool' things that none else has, to show off, these ideas all stem from pop genre music videos as they supply this idea.
